Arsenal sign Spain goalkeeper Misa Rodríguez after Real Madrid exit
Arsenal Women have signed Spain international goalkeeper Misa Rodríguez on a free transfer following the expiry of her Real Madrid contract.

Arsenal Women confirmed on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, that Spain international goalkeeper Misa Rodríguez has joined the club on a permanent deal after leaving Real Madrid at the end of the 2025-26 season.
The 27-year-old arrives as a free agent and adds experience to Arsenal’s goalkeeping group. Rodríguez made 215 appearances for Real Madrid, the most by any player in the club’s history, and served as captain before her departure.
Rodríguez has won 24 senior caps for Spain. She started all three group-stage matches during Spain’s 2023 Women’s World Cup-winning campaign and was also part of the squad that won the UEFA Women’s Nations League in 2024.
Arsenal head coach Renée Slegers said the club believes Rodríguez’s experience, presence and communication will strengthen the goalkeeping unit. The transfer continues a significant summer rebuild for Arsenal ahead of the 2026-27 Women’s Super League season.
